In this webinar, attendees heard from Mihrigul Tursun, who survived interrogation, torture, and political indoctrination in China’s concentration camps, and members of the Uyghur community whose families have been retaliated against for speaking out against the Chinese government, including Uyghur American Association President Kuzzat Altay. Opening and closing remarks will be delivered by Rabbi David Saperstein, former Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom under President Obama and current Senior Advisor for Policy and Strategy at the Religious Action Center for Reform Judaism. These brave activists and Jewish community leaders joined forces in this engaging webinar to learn more about the Uyghur genocide and the Jewish community’s role in ending it.

In this Webinar, Dr. Sean Roberts—associate professor of the practice of international affairs and director of the International Development Studies Program at George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs— discussed his new book "The War on the Uyghurs: China's Internal Campaign against a Muslim Minority." He introduced the topic and main arguments of his book, followed by a Q&A lead by the Uyghur American Association's Program Director.

On October 1st, 2020, on Global Day of Action, Uyghur Americans along with people of Tibet, HongKong, Southern Mongolia, and Taiwan showed solidarity against the Chinese Communist regime in the front of the U.S. Capitol.

We, the Uyghur Americans, re-enacted a scene of what Uyghurs are facing in their own homeland East Turkistan such as forced separation of families, adults being sent to concentration camps and forced labor camps while the Uyghur children being sent to state run orphanage to cut their Uyghur roots, forced sterilization, abortion, and forced organ harvesting. These are nothing short of a real Genocide. In front of the U.S Capitol, Uyghurs demanded the U.S. Senate to pass Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act S.3471/H.R.6210.

Uyghurs also marched from the U.S. Capitol to the White House and demanded the U.S. government to recognize what China is committing against Uyghurs as a Genocide and take action accordingly.
