Spring Raise Awareness Event on Uyghur Genocide

On the Nowruz day on March 21st, 2021, Uyghur American community members held a “Spring Raise Awareness Event on the Uyghur Genocide” that Uyghurs and other Turks are facing in East Turkistan. The Caravan had poster signs demanding China to close the concentration camps, end the genocide, end Uyghur forced labor and forced organ harvesting. The Caravans drove to the U.S Capital Hill in Washington D.C. On the way out of D.C, when we drove pass by an anti- racism protest, we showed our support and solidarity with them. As the victims of extreme form of racism in China, Uyghurs unequivocally condemn any racism.

Uyghur American Association (UAA) advocates for protecting the human rights of Uyghurs and works closely with many Asian groups such as Hong Kongers, Tibetan and others. Aligned with its principles, UAA condemns any form of discrimination, racism and stands with our fellow AAPI.

UAA would like to thank everyone who supported this raise awareness event. Many thanks to the photographer Mark Story @eternallystoked

2022 Beijing Olympics Protest

Today on March 17, 2021, the day before Secretary of State Blinken’s meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Uyghur, Tibetan and Hong Konger community members and human rights groups got together to demand the OIC to move 2022 Winter Olympic out of China. We clearly stated that China should not be allowed to hold the Olympics 2022 until they close the concentration camps and labor camps in East Turkistan and until there is a full freedom for all of us.

We also asked the international companies to stop sponsoring the Winter Olympic 2022 if it is held in China due to its Genocidal polices.

Tibetan Uprising Day

To show solidarity with the people of #Tibet, on the 62nd anniversary of #TibetanUprisingDay, Uyghur American Association joined the protest demonstration with Tibetan Americans & Tibetan supporters in front of the Chinese Embassy in Washington DC.

We told our Tibetan brothers and sisters that we, Uyghurs, are with them on this fight against brutal Chinese Communist Party. China occupied East Turkistan in 1949, Tibet was occupied year after. With the decades long oppression, the CCP assimilated and eliminated many Nations within the borders that it controls. However, they have not been able to assimilate and eliminate Uyghurs, Tibetans, Mongolians. We are brave, cultured and independent-minded people with thousands of years of proud history. We have strong unshakable religious beliefs. These are our shields against fascist and racist Chinese communists. Since the Chinese occupation, we have never stopped our resistance against cruel and unjust rule, never stopped demanding for our freedom. The March 10 Tibetans uprising is an inspiration to all of us.
