Protest: Ghulja Massacre

On February 5, 2020, in remembrance of the Ghulja massacre on (1997), the Uyghur American Association organized a protest in front of the Chinese Embassy in Washington, DC. Uyghur Americans and allies were demonstrating against the Chinese Communist Party’s ongoing genocide of Uyghurs and other Turkic ethnic groups in China. On February 9, 2020, the Uyghur American Association held a Ghulja Massacre Remembrance event at the Uyghur Center. Ghulshen Abduqadir, the author of the book “February 5th Reports” gave a presentation on what had truly happened during 1997 massacre in Ghulja. The witnesses of the Ghulja Massacre shared their personal stories, and answered questions about the tragedy. The event concluded with a dua in commemoration of the innocent lives lost.
