On the Nowruz day on March 21st, 2021, Uyghur American community members held a “Spring Raise Awareness Event on Uyghur Genocide” that Uyghurs and other Turks are facing in East Turkistan. The Caravan had poster signs demanding China to close the concentration camps, end the genocide, end Uyghur forced labor and forced organ harvesting. The Caravans drove to the U.S Capital Hill in Washington D.C. On the way out of D.C, when we drove pass by an anti- racism protest, we showed our support and solidarity with them. As the victims of extreme form of racism in China, Uyghurs unequivocally condemn any racism.
Uyghur American Association (UAA) advocates for protecting the human rights of Uyghurs and works closely with many Asian groups such as Hong Kongers, Tibetan and others. Aligned with its principles, UAA condemns any form of discrimination, racism and stands with our fellow AAPI.
UAA would like to thank everyone who supported this raise awareness event. Many thanks to the photographer Mark Story @eternallystoked
