The Uyghur American Association (UAA) joined twenty members of the Uyghur community to lobby for the urgent passage of the Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act. We knocked on all 100 Senate offices, and hand delivered thank you letters to Senators and staff who supported us.

The Uyghur American Association organized a visual storytelling workshop for Uyghur youth under the supervision of the American artist and human rights activist Erika Berg. Young Uyghurs learned how to express their personal stories, emotions, and experiences through painting and other visual mediums.

This press conference focused on the Congressional-Executive Commission on China (CECC) 2019 Annual Report on human rights conditions and rule of law developments in China. Uyghur Americans attended the press conference and held up pictures of their friends and relatives languishing under detention in East Turkistan.
