The Uyghur American Association (UAA) organized an advocacy training event at the Uyghur Center. Approximately 100 patriotic Uyghurs attended the advocacy training event. In that meeting, Nury Turkel, provided participants with some basic knowledge on the US legislative process. Turkel discussed how a bill is introduced, how advocates can advance the bill through both chambers of Congress, and how a bill ultimately becomes a law. UAA board members Elfidar Iltebir and Tumaris Almas shared UAA’s plans and strategies with the community.
